When the Cole family got in touch to ask if I would capture their time in Ireland against the backdrop of the stunning Dromoland Castle in Co. Clare, the answer was always going to be yes!
Visiting Ireland from America, this family wanted some photos to document the trip of a lifetime. Dromoland Castle boasts so many stunning backdrops for family photography from their walled gardens, to the lake which meanders the stunning golf course, and the castle walls themselves.
In typical Irish-Summer fashion, we found a break between rain showers where the sun made an appearance and allowed us to stroll around the estate. We make the most of the beautiful colour in bloom in the Castle gardens as a backdrop for most of our session.
The families’ visit to Ireland was a really special, once in a lifetime, one. It was so important to me to document the group together, as well as the relationships within – grandparents and grandkids, couples, parents and children, mum & dad… Staying in somewhere as beautiful and authentically Irish as Dromoland, I made sure to document the location also, capturing some images of the place itself along with some beautiful portraits against the castle walls.
