When it comes to finding beautiful locations to visit in the North West, we are truly spoilt for choice!
I offer all of my family photography shoots outdoors, for a number of reasons.
As I opt for a more natural style of photography, I find being outdoors keeps everyone more at ease and relaxed which is key to achieving beautiful, candid photos.
The space that comes with photographing outside means there is a much more organic flow to your shoot as we walk along a beach or through a woodlands and capture as we go, giving you lots of variety in your final gallery.
Lastly, using the outdoors means you have the most beautiful backdrop to your photos. Weather you opt for a laid back beach shoot in your bare feet, walking through a woodlands in your wellies or running through a park; there are so many locations dotted throughout the North West where I absolutely love to photograph families. Below are just a few of my favourites!

Hazelwood Forst Park, Sligo
Woodlands are one of my favourite locations to take family photos and this is a really special one. Not only does it have beautiful trees and paths for walking through, but it also has a stunning lake which makes for a beautiful backdrop. You can also capture some lovely photos of the kids feeding the ducks if you are lucky!
Tullan Strand Beach, Bundoran Co. Donegal
There’s nothing more stunning than beautiful family photos on the beach. Bundoran beach in particular is ideal. It’s so sandy and has gorgeous sand dunes that make for a beautiful backdrop. It’s also lovely to get some photos of you walking through the water with your kids at the end of the shoot.
Florence Court House & Gardens, Fermanagh
This National Trust site is absolutely stunning. If you’re recently engaged, the gardens make for a beautiful backdrop for romantic couple portraits as well as classic family photos. With stunning settings around every corner, you are sure to get beautiful variety in your final gallery!
