As a mum of four, one of my biggest regrets is not having more photographs of my own pregnancies. Like so many mums, I spent more time documenting everyone else than stepping in front of the camera myself. Looking back now, I wish I had more than a handful of photos to remember those months and that precious time!
Pregnancy can feel long when you’re in it, but once your baby arrives it’s amazing how quickly it becomes a distant memory. Having photographs from that time gives you something to look back on, not just now, but years down the line when your family is complete.
I photograph maternity sessions throughout Dublin and across Ireland either outdoors or in your own home, as well as in my home studio in County Leitrim which is easily accessible from Sligo, Donegal, Mayo and Fermanagh. Sessions are relaxed, with plenty of gentle guidance, so there’s no need to worry about knowing how to pose! My goal is to create natural, timeless photographs that you’ll still love decades from now.
